Lago songwriter showcase - March 6, 2010

Had great fun at the "Live at Lago" songwriter showcase. The host, Linden Mazurka, does a wonderful job running this event. You can hear a podcast of part of the show with Linden, me and Robert Straw by clicking this link and following the "Live at Lago" and podcast prompts: www.lindenmusic.net

New Tupelo Music Hall Video - February 25, 2010

I've put up a video of an as yet unreleased song called "Three Women" on the video page. It was recorded at the Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry, New Hampshire. I sort of put this tune on the shelf months ago, but when I reviewed the video, I came back to liking the feel of the music and story. Check it out and let me know what you think!

THANK YOU, K&K! - February 18, 2010

K&K Sound, a maker of guitar electronics such as I use, has featured the new album, Songs Along The Highway, on their company website, www.kksound.com. They posted a link back to my web site so visitors to their site can hear samples of their products as used in the real world. I really appreciate their support! If you are a guitar gearhead like me, check out their site.

ABOUT "SONGS ALONG THE HIGHWAY" - February 8, 2010

Here is a thematic album of 11 songs recorded live. The acoustic arrangements are simple but effective, supporting the impact of the stories and images delivered by an expressive voice and strong melodies. Each song is like a chapter of a book, describing in unique detail a persistent search for an almost undefinable goal, while looking back and into the future at the same time. The title cut serves an an epilogue, with its images of a family evicted by a conflicted sheriff, a tied-up pony's struggle to be free and the narrator's dream of a canyon sunset that is both beautiful and foreboding, hinting that his apparent impatience and indifference toward others is born of his own desperation to continue the search in the face of limited time. Chances are you will recognize yourself somewhere in the words to these songs, right about the time you start to sing along. This is acoustic songwriting in the best tradition. An excellent choice for a long drive...

THE NEW CD IS HERE - WOULD YOU LIKE A FREE COPY? - February 6, 2010

At long last, the new live CD, "Songs Along The Highway," is here! A collection of 11 songs, with 10 recorded at gigs and 1 recorded at a rehearsal. This is an acoustic album - mostly just vocal and guitar - with a couple of harmonica solos and some excellent lead guitar on a few songs by Neal Zweig. So how can you get it FREE? Three simple steps:

1) Be on my email list (just go to the email box on each page and sign up);

3) Ask me for it! (This offer is limited to the first 100 requests.)

I look forward to seeing you!

NEW WEB SITE FLASH PLAYER - April 15, 2009

You may have noticed that music now starts to play as soon as you go to this site thanks to my new flash player. You can control that (stop, start, ff/rw, all the usual stuff) by clicking on the buttons in the flash player box, which should appear on the opening screen of this site. (Be sure to turn it off first if you want to check out songs or video on this site, or you'll probably end up hearing an unintended "mash" of songs!)

ON THE RADIO - October 26, 2007

"Everything I Used To Know" from my album-Walkin' Strong-has been sent to hundreds of radio stations across the country that play music from independent, acoustic-sound based artists such as myself. It's on the Oasis Acoustic Radio Sampler Vol. VII, #13, track no.18. If there is a station in your area that plays something other than "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Stairway To Heaven" all day , please call them up and ask them to play me! Thanks! -TG
